Jerry Lasiter Memorial Scholarship Endowment Reaches $100,000, Securing a Legacy for Future Generations

The scholarship honors the life and legacy of Jerry Lasiter, a man whose love for people, unwavering school spirit, and lifelong dedication to Whiteland Community High School made him one of the most beloved members of the Clark-Pleasant community.

Jerry was affectionately known as Whiteland's Number One Fan. Although he never played sports himself, he dedicated his life to supporting Warrior athletics, encouraging students, and celebrating the accomplishments of others. He spent countless hours at Whiteland Community High School, helping coaches however he could and cheering on generations of student-athletes. His kindness, enthusiasm, and genuine love for people left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

As his family shared in his obituary, Jerry was extraordinary not because of intellect, wealth, or power, but because of his love for people. He never allowed his disabilities to define him. Instead, he built friendships, spread joy, and made everyone around him feel welcome and valued.

The Clark-Pleasant community embraced Jerry just as wholeheartedly as he embraced them. Coaches welcomed him into their programs, students considered him a friend, and generations of Warriors knew that seeing Jerry at games was simply part of the Whiteland experience. Since its creation, the scholarship has been supported by an incredible outpouring of generosity. Community members have contributed through individual donations, sponsorships, the annual Jerry Lasiter Memorial Pickleball Challenge, the Staff Volleyball Tournament, memorial gifts, and many other fundraising efforts. Every contribution brought the Foundation one step closer to creating a permanent scholarship in Jerry's honor.

A special thank you goes to Jerry's family, whose extraordinary generosity helped the Foundation cross the finish line and complete the $100,000 endowment.
